LAHORE - Leaders of member parties of Defence Pakistan Council along with Awami Muslim League and PML (Zia) will stage protest demonstrations and rallies across the country and Azad Jammu Kashmir today to put pressure on the government not to reopen the NATO supplies.
JI Chief Munawar Hasan, Jamaat-ud-Dawa Ameer Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, AML President Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, PML-Z President Ijaz-ul-Haq, JUI-S Chief Sami-ul-Haq, former DG ISI, Lt Gen (r) Hameed Gul and other leaders of the campaign appealed to the masses to participate in the black day in a bid to stop the intervention of the US and its allies in the region. The DPC will hold protest demonstrations and rallies in Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, besides other cities of the country and Azad Jammu Kashmir.
Jamaat-ud-Dawa being the lead party of the DPC following the directions of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed reviewed the arrangements of the venues of the demonstrations and rallies on Thursday. The DPC will hold demonstrations and rallies at all major points in the City, while Lahore Press Club road and Masjid-i-Shuhada will be the main venues of the events.
