LAHORE - Plan International-Pakistan signed a MoU with Lahore College for Women University’s Department of Mass Communication for capacity building of future and young journalists on the issues of Adolescents in Pakistan.

The MoU was signed by LCWU VC Dr Sabiha Mansoor and Country Director Plan International-Pakistan Rashid Javed here on Thursday. The objective of the MoU was to facilitate and support the Department of Mass Communication in building capacities of future and young journalists on different aspects of Adolescents issues.

Project Coordinator Plan-Pakistan Iftikhar Mubarik said the MoU would ensure the technical assistance to students of mass communication in their thesis and research work on Adolescents issues.  Addressing the ceremony, chief guest Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said media was important component who could sensitise the masses on the issues of adolescents and youth in country.

MoU signed at FCC:  The Rector of Forman Christian College Dr Peter Armacost and the President of BF Biosciences Osman Khalid Waheed signed a MoU at FC College on Thursday to initiate collaboration on establishing a bioassay and other areas of mutual interest.

Eduardo Bustamente, Deputy Head of Mission at the Argentine Embassy in Islamabad was also present. The Embassy has coordinated the joint venture between the Bagó group of Argentina and Ferozsons Laboratories of Pakistan, the parent company of BFBL.

The 5-year MoU covers a number of areas of mutual interest between FCC and BFBL, including development of joint research by FCC faculty and BFBL and provision of internships to FCC students, providing students a greater opportunity to interact with industry.

Pakistan Day marked: A ceremony in connection with Pakistan Day was arranged in the College of Home Economics, Gulberg her on Thursday.

Saba Sadiq was the chief guest. In her address, she paid tremendous homage to the leaders of the Muslim League of Subcontinent for their utmost effort in making the dream of Allama Iqbal come fulfilled in the shape of the resolution of 1940 with Quaid-e-Azam as the permanent president at that time. She stressed the fact female students were backbone of our society we were facing many problems now a days and students must come forward to save the nation. On this occasion member of media Committee, Prof Zahida Altaf, Shabana Khalid, Sajida Nadeem, Farah Yaqoob, Seema Sharjeel and others were also present.
