RAWALPINDI - In connection with the Pakistan Day celebrations, a poster competition was held among the students of schools and colleges of the twin cities at the Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) here on Thursday.

On the occasion, RAC’s former Resident Director (RD) Naheed Manzoor was the chief guest while RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed, principals, faculty members and students of participating educational institutions were also present.

Naheed Manzoor, while speaking on the occasion, applauded the efforts of the students who painted beautiful posters. She said that Pakistan is a very beautiful country and it was achieved after the great sacrifices of our ancestors.

She said that it was the prime duty of the young generation to contribute in national progress by getting higher education.

Waqar Ahmed said that the council has arranged different programmes to celebrate Pakistan Day with zeal and zest. He said that a variety programmes would also be held today at 7pm in RAC.

In the school category, Amaar from JS Public School secured first position and Amira Adil of the same school got second while Sarmzi of RAC remained third in poster competition.

Similarly, in the college category, Ammara Shakeel from Government Degree College for Women F-Block Rawalpindi stood first, Tahir Saleem from Rawalpindi Arts Council got second and Aroosa Naeem from Fauji Foundation secured third position.

At the end, the chief guest distributed shields and certificates among the participants.
