LAKKI MARWAT : Office-bearers and volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation have called upon the government to formulate policies for water conservation and education of people to stop misuse of water. They were speaking at the end of a walk organised by the Alkhidmat Foundation, a humanitarian wing of Jamat-i-Islami to mark world water day. The walk started from the foundation's office at Main Lorry Adda and culminated at the Kargil Chowk. Led by AKF District President Abdul Ghaffar Faryadi and Secretary General Liaqat Ali Sayyam people from different walks of life participated in it. They carried banners and placards highlighting importance of water for life. On the occasion, the AKF leaders said that with the misuse of water we would lose underground water reservoirs. "There is dire need to conserve water for future generations," they told. They said that future generations would face a sever water crises if we failed to preserve water resources and prevent its misuse. They revealed that the Alkhidmat Foundation had launched several water supply projects in the district to ensure provision of clean drinking water to local residents.–Staff Reporter
