The fifth Pak Wheels Auto Show, held at Liberty Market Parking in Gulberg, could not attract a large crowd, as limited people visited the show on Sunday. However, a press release issued by the PakWheels claimed that the show was the biggest annual auto event in Lahore with more than 1,000 car and bikes on display for some 100,000 visitors that were in attendance this year.
According to it, PakWheels launched its first auto show in the Mughal City of Gardens, Lahore in March 2011. The idea was to give car enthusiasts a chance to meet and interact with one another, and a space where some of the most exclusive cars could be displayed for all to see. “Little is being done for auto lovers in Pakistan. Yes, they can go online and learn about some of the best vehicles out there but rarely do they get an opportunity to interact with other like-minded individuals,” said Ahmad Saeed, the Chief Operating Officer of PakWheels.com, who spoke on the occasion. “Thus the Auto Show was established for car enthusiasts, giving them a chance to not only meet with other vehicle owners but also to glean information about the automobiles of their choice.”
“Much like the previous shows, the 5th installment comprised a day of fun-filled activities for auto lovers and their families. Classic, vintage, exotic, luxury 4x4 and SUVs were some of categories of vehicles featured in this year’s auto show while efforts were also be made to educate motorsport enthusiasts about the risks of street racing and reckless driving.”
