LAHORE - Former ICC and World Cup Cricket umpire Khizar Hayat Sunday condemned the statements of the ICC president and the Bangladesh prime minister and their protest regarding the recent decisions given by umpire Aleem Dar.
In a statement on Sunday, Khizar said: “Mustafa Kamal should understand that the umpires are the sole judges of fair and unfair, out and not out, weather, light, pitch and ground. Neither any management nor any competitive team can object on the umpires’ official decisions publically or on the media. If anyone will do so, they will be treated under the code of conduct framed by the ICC.”
He added: “Aleem Dar is the world renowned umpire with a proven track record and such defaming statements and protests are against the spirit of this noble game, especially if they are coming from distinguished members of ICC.”
