Two government officials involved in corruption regarding the distribution of funds under Kissan Package have been arrested with recovery of the embezzled amount, the district administration claimed.

The district coordination officer of Sialkot said that on the directions of Punjab chief minister, like other cities of Punjab, monitoring was done in Lodhran District to ensure transparency in the distribution of Kissan Package . As a result, he added, embezzlement was spotted in Kehror Pakka’s Mauza Rind Jada in which it was surfaced that non deserving persons received funds under the Kissan Package . Later, an inquiry was conducted in this matter and Data Operator Fayyaz Hussain and Clerk Saleem Raza were arrested by Anti-Corruption with the help of administration and police.

He further said that to ensure transparency in the Kissan Package , steps are being taken so that in the distribution of Kissan Package can be delivered to the deserving persons. He added that action will be taken against corrupt officials without any hesitation. DPO Lodhran Asad Sarfraz Khan, DOC Javed Ishtiaq and AC Kehror Pakka Zafarullah were also present.

MNA Abdul Rehman Kanjoo stated at a press briefing here on Thursday. Kehror Pakka Land Record Centre In-charge Umair Khan, MPA Jahangir Sultan Bhutta and Madi Bhago Khan UC Chairman Shahnawaz Joyia were also present on the occasion.

He said that the land record computerisation system would help eliminate disputes, unnecessary litigation, corruption and irregularities in the matters relating to non-movable properties as well as rid the people of Patwari culture.

The MNA said that computerised system of land records was nothing less than a gift from the Punjab Chief Minister to the public. Speaking on the occasion, Kehror Pakka Land Record Centre In-charge Umair Khan said that the assets of the agriculturists had been made secured in the computer centre neither computer system can usurp farmer’s lands nor get its records vanished.

He said that a separate counter for women and senior citizen would be established to facilitate them.
