islamabad - Security in the capital city is tight ahead of March 23 military parade as 111-Brigade is in command of the situation, particularly around the Parade Ground.

Islamabad police and traffic police will also help the army in security arrangements on the occasion.

Entry has been restricted at Expressway, Faizabad and Zero Point and only the pass-holders would be allowed to move towards the parade venue near Shakarparian.

The roads around the venue would remain closed for all kinds of traffic which would be diverted to alternate routes.

Religious seminaries within 3 kilometre radius of the parade venue would remain closed also for one day (March 23). There are 47 seminaries situated around the venue. These fall in sector I-8, G-6, G-7, Rawal Dam Chowk and Margalla Town. The management of these seminaries has assured the district administration and police high-ups of cooperation in this regard on the occasion.

Mobile phone service would also remain suspended from 5:00am to 3:00pm due to security concerns.

Meanwhile, Islamabad police have arrested seven outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered narcotics, wine and weapons from their possession, police said. According to details, Bani Gala police recovered a 30-bore pistol from Muneer alias Muniro while Karachi Company police nabbed Saeed for having 230 grams hashish. Golra police nabbed Mumtaz Begum for having 250 grams heroin while Koral police arrested Samar Iqbal in possession of four wine bottles. Loi Bher police arrested Nadeem for selling petroleum products illegally and Nilore police apprehended two thieves Yasrab Mehboob and Ajmal Masood. Cases have been registered against these nabbed persons and further investigation is under way.
