ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) government will leave no stone unturned for development and progress of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and will lay foundation stone of enlightened Kashmir.

 Talking to former President and Prime Minister of AJK and Senior Vice President of PML-N, Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan, who called on him at the PM House on Tuesday, Nawaz Sharif said that if the people of Kashmir voted the PML-N to power, its government will put all out efforts to bring AJK in par with the developed cities of the country through reforms in the areas of infrastructure, health, energy and education.

 During the meeting upcoming elections in AJK and the party matters were discussed in detail. Special Assistant to the PM on Political Affairs, Dr Asif  Kirmani and AJK PML-N's Additional General Secretary, Sardar Abdul Khaliq Wasi attended the meeting.

 The Prime Minister said he had special attachment and affection for Kashmir and the Kashmiri people. Whenever I visited Kashmir got much love and respect from the people of Kashmir and I highly valued it, he added.

 He lauded the sacrifices and services of the family of Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan in the Kashmir freedom struggle and said Sardar Sikandar being a notable political figure in Kashmir was an asset for PML-N.

 Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan told the PM that by seeing the excitement of Kashmiri people he could foresee the convincing victory of PML-N in the upcoming AJK elections.

 He said the people of Kashmir were highly appreciative of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif who by using his wisdom and political sagacity had highlighted the issue of Kashmir at international level.

 During the meeting it was decided that the PML-N tickets would be awarded only on the basis of merit and competency after consultation with the parliamentary board, so that the people who had the true spirit to serve masses could come forward and change the fate of Kashmir.
