LAHORE   -   Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Tuesday said that water was an invaluable blessing of Allah Almighty.

In his message issued on World Water Day, the CM noted that Pakistan was rich in both natural and water resources. He also underlined that the country could be made prosperous by prudently utilising its aqua resources.

“The govt is committed to developing new water reservoirs for future generations,” he added. “Saving depleting water reserves is the collective responsibility,” he stressed and mentioned that new dams were being constructed to store more water. “Water is a precious asset and it should not be wasted at any cost,” he emphasised. “While the government is taking strict measures to prevent wastage of water, the citizens should also use water sparingly. One drop, saved today, will be of use for the generations to come,” he maintained.

and concluded that the purpose of celebrating the World Water Day was to raise public awareness about the prudent use of water in daily life.

Meanwhile, the CM sought a report from IG police about the ghastly slaying of a street vendor by wedding guests in Pattoki and directed him to provide justice to the bereaved heirs along with the early arrest of the impassive accused. Following the CM’s orders, the police arrested 12 accused and registered a case against them.
