Recent report in the newspaper that FBR is hiring more than 80 consultants at very high remuneration was very shocking. If FBR requires 80 consultants to do the job it is supposed to do, there is something seriously wrong with it. I think the government should take strict notice of this and of any other government departments that hire consultants for their own work. All organizations should be capable of running their affairs, solving their problems and managing their workload. If an organization requires consultants to work, there is something wrong with its intrinsic capability. -ENGR SHAHRYAR KHAN BASEER, Peshawar, via e-mail, May 8.
