LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said the Lahore Expo Center is an exemplary joint venture of federal and provincial governments through which socio-economic activities will be promoted. The present situation of recession in international markets, this Expo Center will play key-role for promotion of Pakistani products, he said, while addressing an inaugural ceremony of Expo Center here on Saturday. Chief Operating Officer of Expo Center Arif Khosa narrated the details of construction of Expo Center and the facilities being provided there. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Acting Governor Punjab Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Chairman Standing Committee for Commerce Khurram Dastagir, MNAs, MPAs, a large number of industrialists and traders attended the ceremony. Shahbaz Sharif said state of the art facilities had been provided in Lahore Expo Center and there was an auditorium, convention centre and best arrangements for exhibition of products. He said the Center will play an important role for promotion of industrial products of Pakistan. He thanked Prime Minister, Federal Minister for Commerce and Federal Government for construction of this Center. Mentioning energy projects, the CM said the PM held meetings after every two weeks with regard to energy, which was a proof of the fact that the Premier was serious in overcoming the energy crisis. He requested the PM to give approval to the provinces for starting projects of generating energy through coal and other sources in next review meeting.
