LAHORE - Bomb Disposal Squad personnel defused at least six rocket shells near Begum Kot Checkpost in Shahdara police precincts on Saturday. According to police investigators, police team led by the SHO Maqsood Ahmad Gujjar and SI Nazir Ahmad raided a vacant plot backyard near a food factory on the tip off and recovered six rocket shells at 11:00 am. Meanwhile bomb disposal squad reached the site and defused the rocket shells, which contained small explosive material. The squad, later, sent defused rocket shells to Forensic Lab for further investigation. Police investigators, however, maintained it seemed these rockets were placed some days back as they were lacking huge explosive material. A search operation is underway in the said locality in order to arrest the terror suspects, a police officer said. He further said it looked the presence of these shells were to create panic among public, which is committed to foil these designs of the miscreants. Open courts Inspector General of Police Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar will hold open courts in Khanewal and Vehari on May 25. According to a handout issued on Saturday, the IGP Tariq Saleem Dogar will hold an open court at 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Office of District Police Officer (DPO) Khanewal while on the same day at 2:00 pm the IGP will also hold open court in the office of the DPO Vehari. The IGP will listen to complaints of the people during these open courts.
