LAHORE – A father of seven was found hanging from a tree close to an under-construction factory located at Defense Road in Chuhng police area, police and eyewitnesses said.
It was not clear whether the deceased, later identified as Zameer Ahmed of Okara district, committed suicide or unidentified persons murdered him and fled away after hanging his body from a tree.
Police investigators said they rushed to the spot soon after some local residents contacted the police emergency service (Rescue-15) and disclosed to the officials that the body of a man was hanging from a tree.
Police believed that Zameer committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree, close to an under-construction factory, where he had been working as security guard.
Police said that the father of seven, Zameer, hanged himself from a tree with a telephone cable tied to his neck as he had been facing worst financial crisis coupled with domestic disputes.
According to initial investigations, a police source said, the poverty-stricken man had been facing some domestic problems.
However, he said that the possibility of murder of the security guard by unidentified men could not be ruled out.
The police have removed the body to the morgue for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death and are investigating.
