Rs24m sought for Faisal Mosque carpets

ISLAMABAD - Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sought an amount of twenty-four million rupees for the purchase of new carpet to be laid at Faisal Mosque, Islamabad. Planning Commission has approved the amount. The CDA already has Rs 14 million to be spent on replacement of the carpet. Meanwhile, the contractor who will provide the new carpet has also shown willingness to buy the old carpet for Rupees 2.4m, owing to its historical importance.
The carpet, going to be replaced, is nearly thirty years old.
