LAHORE: The USAID-supported Citizens’ Engagement and Accountability for an Effective Local Government System Programme is being run by Devolution Trust for Community Empowerment in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In this connection a meeting was held in Lahore which was attended by Saqib Khurseed MPA, Shameela Aslam MPA, Muhammad Akram MPA, Zulafqar Ghori MPA, Khola Amjad MPA, Salma Butt MPA, Dr Farzana MPA, Dr Nosheen Hamid MPA, Kaniz Akhter MPA, B Salman Abid RGM SPO, Mumtaz SPO Zafar Malik Aagaz Foundation, Wajahat Batool ,Pattan, Shazia Nawaz Pattan, Faraha Salah CCHD,  Mr..Najeeb Aslam DG LG&CD ,Faiz Naeem Warrich EDO-CD.
The meeting reiterated the resolve to continue with raising awareness among the masses about their power.
In order to empower people and to make local government system effective, DTCE organized a provincial level meeting with Members of Punjab Assembly (MPA’s)and stakeholders on implementation of Article 140-A and citizens’ demands, while supporting the establishment of local government system.–Staff Reporter
