JUI-F accuses G-B governor of pre-poll rigging

GILGIT - Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) has demanded the Chief Election Commissioner to stop Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Barjees Tahir and Federal Secretary Kashmir Affairs Shahidullah Baig from influencing the upcoming election in the favour of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Speaking at a press conference in Gilgit Press Club on Friday, Ameer Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam  (JUI) Gilgit-Baltistan Maulana Sarwar Shah said that JUI is in winning  position at all four constituencies of district Diamer.
He claimed that Governor Gilgit-Baltistan and Federal Secretary Kashmir Affairs were working for PML-N and they were planning for rigging in four constituencies of Diamer.
He warned the election commission Gilgit-Baltistan that they would block Karakorum High Way and start agitation campaign all over the region if it fails to stop the federal government from pre-poll rigging.
Meanwhile MWM Central Political Secretary Nasir Sharazi on Friday accused PML-N of buying candidates and voters with the help of federal government to hijack the elections scheduled to be held on June 8.
Speaking at a press conference in Gilgit press club, he said the Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly election were not being held in free and fair atmosphere as claimed by the federal government.
He said his party was committed to fight for the rights of G-B.
He appealed to the masses to vote for MWM during election for development of the area. On the other hand, Provincial President of PML-N Hafiz Hafiz-u-Rehman during a press conference said that all political parties were afraid of the winning position of PML-N.
