A shopkeeper has raped an 11-year-old girl in Jinnah Square area of Malir last night.

According to the police, the teenage girl only went for a burger when the shopkeeper assaulted her.

The police told that they had conducted a medical examination of the survivor which confirmed the rape. However, the 22-year-old suspect, identified as Asif, has been arrested and a case has also been registered against him. 

The girl’s elder sister shared that she had sent her younger sister to the shop to bring food for her as she wasn’t feeling well. But when her sister didn’t return for more than an hour she went to check on her along with some friends from the neighbourhood.

"Upon reaching the burger shop, she found out that the shopkeepers had assaulted her sister. “I only want justice, such a person deserves to be punished," she said.

The suspect will be presented before the judicial magistrate on Thursday, the police told.
