LAHORE Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has asked the federal government to apologise to Saudi Arabia over the statement of a Federal Minister, and further direct Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi to immediately withdraw his undesirable statement. Blaming Saudi Arabia for the Haj arrangements by the Minister for Religious Affairs is highly deplorable, says CMs statement issued here on Monday. He further added that these allegations had been levelled against such a brotherly country, which had always supported Pakistan in every hour of need, and relations with Saudi Arabia were based on strong religious and spiritual foundations. Instead of being ashamed for his and his Ministrys corruption and negligence, the Federal Minister has tried to lay the blame for the poor arrangements and the inconvenience caused to the Hujaj on the Saudi government, which has caused deep anguish among the Pakistani nation, he maintained.
