LAHORE Pakistan Hockey Federation President Qasim Zia said on Monday that Pakistan had the skill and talent to win gold medal in the Asian Games. Speaking to media at the National Hockey Stadium, he said that reaching the semi-finals of the Asian Games was a great success and the team was good enough to beat South Korea. He said the team management and the selection committee had been given free hand. He said his nomination in the FIH executive board was a proof of the fact that Pakistan hockey was making progress. He said efforts were underway to host at least one Asian event in Pakistan next year. He also said Pakistan would host the World Series in 2013 and the organisers hope that security situation will improve by then. He said Pakistan made a few mistakes in match against India and certain decisions by umpires were also controversial. He said had spoken to the team management and they were working on a few technical areas in coming matches.
