KHANEWAL - DPO Muhammad Waqar Abbasi on Tuesday claimed to have arrested six members of a notorious gang, including its ringleader Abdul Sattar alias Billa. The DPO, while addressing a news conference, claimed that cash and valuables, worth Rs4.5 million, were recovered from the arrested culprits. He said 21 operatives of the gang were still at large. The gang was wanted in several cases of robbery. It was also involved in looting fertilizer bags from warehouses in Khanewal, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan and Vehari districts. The DPO said that the gang used to sell the looted urea bags at low rates at different places. He said that a 19-member team was constituted under DSP Ejaz Masood to bust the said gang. The police party succeeded to arrest its six members identified as ringleader Abdul Satttar alias Bila, his brother Falk Sher, Khadim Hussain, Manzoor alias Joori, Mazhar Abbas and Muhammad Akram.
