SARGODHA - Captain Dr Faraz Malik who embraced martyrdom in a conflict with extremists in Orakzai Agency, was laid to rest at a graveyard in his ancestral village with full military honours on Tuesday. A contingent of army personnel offered salute to the Shaheed. Later, floral wreaths were laid at his grave on behalf of President Zardari and Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiyani at his grave. On the occasion, his father Dr Farooq Malik said that his son embraced martyrdom and this is an honour for his family as well as the people of Sargodha. He said that his son was born in October 25, 1984. He achieved his education from Federal Public School Sargodha and Pakistan Air Force Base College Sargodha. Later, he completed his MBBS and joined the Pakistan Army. After completion of his training, the 26-year-old spent his Eidul Azha holidays with his family. He got his first assignment in Almezan Operation at Orakzai Agency area where the bachelor embraced martyrdom on the first day of his posting. Shaheed Faraz Maliks mother said that she was proud of her son as his mother because he has sacrificed his life on the motherland. Farrukh Malik, brother of Faraz Malik, said that his brother is lucky that he embraced martyrdom. Captain Dr Faraz Maliks friend, Javeed Abbas, said that Faraz was very devoted friend and Allah bestowed him this great position.
