LAHORE In another wave of support, PTI is most likely to take some former notables of PML-Q into its fold on Wednesday (today). Sources in the PTI privy to the information regarding inclusion of new faces in the party confided to The Nation on Tuesday that former Senator Shafqat Mehmood most likely to join the PTI during a Press conference alongwith PTI chief, Imran Khan. Imran Khan who was in Morocco to attend the World Economic Forum would reach Lahore in the early hours of Wednesday to extend his oath of allegiance to the new entrants in the party. Sources further told this correspondent that former district Nazim Narowal, Colonel (Retd) Javed Safdar Kahloon alongwith his wife Riffat Kahloon, a former member Parliament of PML-Q will also join. Former Nazim Rawalpindi, Raja Tariq Kiyani and ex-tehsil Nazim Gujjar Khan, Raja Naeem Kiyani will also join Imran Khan. They further informed that former district Nazim Sialkot, Naeem Javed would also join the PTI in next few days, while Chaudhry Asghar Gujjar has given his nod to join the PTI and he would also join the PTI ranks. It may be noted here that PTI, which seems to be the rival of the PML-N at this stage could be in a position to make upsets for the PML-N candidates with the inclusion of former district leaders who hold a sizeable support in their respective districts if the PTI forge alliance with likeminded right-wing forces. Ijaz Chaudhry, central Vice President of PTI when contacted said that many political bigwigs were going to join his party, while Imran Khan was reaching Lahore early on Wednesday and he would spend a busy day. A PML-Q leader said that most candidates for the slots of the Nazims were the choice of former President Pervez Musharraf and have no political background and the same leaders would have no impact on PML-Qs constituencies if they join the PTI or PML-N. Colonel (Retd) Javed Safdar Kahloon on this point said that he met with PML-Q senior leader, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and politely asked him for parting ways with the PML-Q. He added 'I told Pervaiz Elahi that I havent abandoned you but you joined the PPP, however, I am still at the same juncture where we joined each other few years back and Pervaiz Elahi wished him well.
