Former information minister and PPP leader Sherry Rehman has been appointed as Pakistan Ambassador to the United States, said a statement issued here on Wednesday. According to the statement Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani appointed Sherry Rehman as Pakistan Ambassador to the United States. Sherry Rehman met the prime minister before the appointemnet where Gilani expressed best wishes for her. On Tuesday, Hussain Haqqani resigned from the post over the memogate issue, during a high level meeting of civilian and military leadership.
