KARACHI - The planning phase for the establishment of media city in Karachi has been completed and the project would be initiated soon.This was stated by the Sindh Minister for information Technology, Raza Haroon.He was addressing a meeting of the officers and staff of the Department of Information Technology here on Thursday.The minister said that biometric identification system and E-learning projects have also been approved and that these too would also be initiated soon.He was of the view that in the past four years or so, the Information Technology Department in accordance with the vision, philosophy of chief of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain, undertook revolutionary steps and that the fruits of these have started reaching the people. They will get more facilities in various spheres also, Raza Haroon added. He pointed out that the Hospital Management Information System has been completed at the Civil Hospital.

 Karachi E-policing project, E-driving licence plan have also been completed.He said that the computerized domicile and PRC project also initiated in collaboration with the Nadra.The secretary Information Technology, Saleh Farooqui, Khalid Shamsi, Saeed Qureshi, Dost Ali Baloch, Khawaja Umar Ali and Jehan Ara also expressed their views on the occasion.
