RAWALPINDI - The mass funeral prayer of 16 victims of Dhoke Seydan blast was offered at Imambargah Qasar-e-Shabbir at Dhoke Seydan here on Thursday.

The funeral prayer, led by Khateeb Qasar-e-Abu Talib, Imambargah Abid Majeed Road Allama Mohsin Abbas Hamdani, was attended by the area’s people irrespective of the sects, and many political personalities. 

Later, all the 16 suicide blast victims were laid to rest in the same place in a row amid sobs and tears at Saddat Community Graveyard at Dhoke Seydan.

The suicide blast victims, whose mass funeral prayer was offered, included Syed Zia-ul-Hussain Shah, Syed Tanveer Shah, Syed Shaiq Raza, Suhail Abbas, Saqlain Abbas, Syed Kamran Abbas, Rahil Abbas (Group Scout Leader), Nauman Shah, Syed Mushtaq Hussain Shah, Syed Own Ali Kazmi, Shabih-ul-Hassan Kazmi, Ghaznafar Abbas, Muhammad Nadeem, Muhammad Azeem, Asif Hussain and Adil Hussain. 

Tight security arrangements were made by the city police in and around the graveyard under the surveillance of Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar Division Syed Haseeb Shah.

All the roads leading to the suicide blast place and graveyard were closed by city traffic police by placing barricades at Dhoke Syedan Chowk and Baraf Khan Chowk. Earlier, in the day the Shia community of the area peacefully protested at Kamalabad Chowk to condemn the killings and demanded foolproof security for next three days.
