LAKKI MARWAT - A blast partially damaged the house of ANP female MPA Yasmeen Zia in Naurang town on late Wednesday night.

An official said that a homemade explosive devise planted by unknown miscreants along the house of female lawmaker went off with a bang at midnight. He said that the explosion damaged the main gate and stairs of upper storey of the house used as a guest room.

"Yasmeen Zia and her husband ANP's district chief Advocate Sadruddin were not present in the house at the time of explosion", he said. However, he said, other inmates remained safe. He said that a contingent of police reached the spot and cordoned of the area to launch a search action. "Police registered a case against unknown miscreants in Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station and started investigations", he added.

Meanwhile, ANP leaders including Senior Vice President Mamraiz Khan, Vice President Humayun Khan and Information Secretary Daulat Khan Marwat have strongly condemned the bomb attack on the house of ANP MPA Yasmeen Zia.

Meanwhile, police arrested a fleeing prisoner of Bannu jail in the outskirts of Abakhel on Thursday.

After receiving a tip off, a police party headed by SHO Lakki Marwat Ismail Khan raided a place near Chunai bridge and arrested a fleeing prisoner Saeedullah, an official told.

He said that Saeedullah was facing murder charges and escaped from Bannu jail when militants had attacked it in April this year.

Police seized a hand grenade from his possession and registered a case against him under Section 5 of the Explosives Act in Lakki Marwat police station, he said.
