Including two students, four people were wounded in separate incidents in Bara tehsil on Thursday, official and local sources said. A mortar shell, fired from an unknown location, landed on a private school in Sheen Drang area of Akakhel, leaving two students, identified as Inayatullah and Himat Khan, wounded. A portion of the school was also damaged in the strike, the sources said.

The injured were ferried to a hospital in Peshawar, where they stated to be in serious condition.

In another incident, two fighters of a peace militia were wounded when an improvised explosive device went off while they were on a routine patrol in Akakhel area. According to the sources, unidentified militants had planted the bomb near Qambarabad market. The injured were shifted to a Peshawar hospital for medical aid.
