FAISALABAD - Not only criminal cases will be registered against Fesco employees found involved in power pilferage but they will also be terminated the service, warned Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Eng Iftikhar Ahmad.

Addressing a gathering of Meter Supervisors and Readers of first and second circles at Steam Power Station here, the CEO pointed out that improvement in power sector was equally necessary for the country, nation and for the employees attached with the Fesco. He pointed out that drastic changes in power sector were being introduced to strengthen national economy in line with the policy of the government. He stressed that staff of the company should mend their ways and render services with dedication to ensure positive results. The Fesco chief warned that work shirkers and negligent employees should get early retirement as there was no room for the black sheep in the company.

He pointed out that such ‘handful’ elements were stigma on the face of Fesco which had been affecting the overall image of the company. He underlined the importance of Meter Readers and said that Meter Reader was the true representative of the company as they visit door-to-door and remained aware of the necessary information and discrepancies.

 He emphasised that the company revenue could be increased with responsible role of Meter Readers.

The Fesco chief said that employees who could not pinpoint power pilferers were deemed to involve in the crime. He said that Meter Supervisors should follow up the checking process with full responsibility while the operation staff should bring qualitative improvement in their attitude.

Earlier, General Manager (Operations) Ghazanfar Ali Baloch also addressed the employees.
