JI demands Malik removal over bombings

LAHORE – Condemning bomb blasts in different cities on Wednesday causing huge loss of life, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan on Thursday said that the rulers had no right to stay in power. He demanded immediate resignation of the Federal Interior Minister for failure to protect the life and property of the masses.
In a press statement, Hasan said that the entire country, including Karachi, had virtually become a slaughter house, as the police, administration, security institutions and agencies had been failed completely. The loss of life in Karachi, Balochistan and other parts of the country during the last two months was far more than that in the wars with India in 1965 and 1971, he added. He said that thousands of innocent people had been murdered during the period of the present government, while thousands others had been rendered disabled.
