The Federal Minister for Privatization, Senator Ghaus Baksh Mehar was removed from his post on Friday by Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf following the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) lawmakers differences with the government over the issue of the Sindh Local Government Ordinance (SLGO).

Ghaus Bakhsh Mahar was elected from Sindh on PML-Q ticket and was appointed as the privatization minister in former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s tenure.

On the other hand, Ghaus Bakhsh told that he was not removed but resigned from his position on October 31 and had presented his resignation to his party chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain because he has some reservations with the Sindh government.
