LAHORE – Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen has vowed to actively participate in Muharram processions and majalis, saying terrorists could not stop the faithful from expressing love for martyrs of Karbala.
Addressing a called press conference at Lahore Press Club on Thursday, Central Secretary General of MWM Raja Nasir Abbas Jafri said that suicide attacks on mourners in Karachi and Rawalpindi showed that the government existed nowhere and the entire country was on the mercy of terrorists. Secretary General MWM Punjab Abdul Khaliq Assadi was also present.
Nasir Abbas Jafri said that terrorists were killing innocent Muslims and the rulers were merely acting as silent spectator. He said that the terrorists would fail to terrify mourners as they were ready to sacrifice even their lives for the martyrs of Karbala. He said that millions of Muslims would fail conspiracies of the US and Israeli agents by participating in processions and majalis despite threats of terrorist attacks.
He said that it was responsibility of every mourner to participate in procession and majlis to express love for martyrs and to send a clear message to the world community. He urged the rulers to stop patronizing banned outfits and arrest terrorists. He called for scholars’ help for creating public awareness to promote interfaith harmony.
