A few months back our PM announced establishment of hospitals in the country. On this occasion, he recounted, yet again, all development mega projects completed during past three years.
In the sequence of this announcement he launched a project to build a hospital at Rahim Yar Khan (RYK) and monotonously repeated for the umpteenth time his achievements in the past. With tears in his eyes he said that it was first ever attempt by any government to provide medical facilities for the poor people of RYK. I wonder how could our PM’s worthy brother who has been at helm of affairs in Punjab for a long time now not see the deplorable condition of people in Rahim Yar Khan? This project is indeed commendable as it is better to do something than simply being complacent about the conditions of this country.
However, I wish these hospitals promised by the PM were completed and made functional with full fledge equipment and staff for the people of his country. If the deed was done within the stipulated period, he would indeed be remembered as a great leader. On the other hand, if only a building were raised and for remaining work he had to seek votes yet again to become PM for the fourth time to make these projects fully functional which I am afraid would be the case. People would be completely disillusioned by his government.
Therefore, the PM needs to devolve his powers to his ministers for lying out the foundation of hospitals and save his time and energy to bring much needed reforms in all sectors.
