MIRPUR (AJK)-The Higher Education Commission has approved a Rs157.388 million development project to provide facilities for students and the faculty in Mirpur University of Science & Technology (MUST).

Director Planning & Development M Iqbal told this correspondent that on the special move by the vice chancellor Dr Habibur Rehman and special directions by Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, the uplift project has formally been approved by the Higher Education Commission.

Work at the project will start soon under the supervision and guidance of the VC to facilitate the students and the faculty, through the construction of a grand library, a grand mosque and a cafeteria at the old campus.

Iqbal underlined that the Higher Education Commission-sponsored grand library would have the seating capacity of 3,000 students. Besides, over 500 persons would be able to offer prayers simultaneously in the proposed grand mosque. Similarly, over 3,500 people would have the facility to enjoy food in the proposed cafeteria to be constructed under the plan at the campus.
