8th annual vintage, classic car rally to start from Khyber

PESHAWAR - The 8th annual vintage and classic car rally from Khyber to Karachi 2017 will start from tomorrow (Friday).

Talking to media persons here, Classic Land Rover Peshawar CEO Asim Durrani said that after seven years of successful journey, the 8th vintage ad classic car rally is this time kicking off from Khyber to Karachi instead of Karachi-to-Khyber.

Sharing the details of the scheduled car rally, he said that vintage cars enthusiasts from all over the country are reaching Peshawar today (Thursday) with cars like Rolls Royce, Cadillac, Ferrari, Porsche, Mustang, Mercedes of old models. Driving to Michanai Post Torkham Khyber Agency from Balahisar Fort as guests of Frontier Corps, the vintage car rally would start from Khyber Rifle Mess Landi Kotal Friday afternoon, he added.

This big event is being organized by Vintage and Classic Car Club of Pakistan. Asim Durrani said that on November 25, a vintage and classic car show would be held at Peshawar Services club from 10 am to 3.30 pm and about 80 cars and jeeps would be taking part in the show. “Likewise, at around 3.30 pm, same day, the car rally would departure for Islamabad, where its participants would also participate in a road show at Faisal Mosque Islamabad on November 26,” he added.

He said on November 27, there would be a road show at polo ground Lahore, while the car rally would depart on November 28 from Lahore to Multan, Rahim Yar Khan, Gambat and finally Karachi.

“Similarly, on December 3, a big car show of Pakistan will take place at Fair Hall Karachi, where it is expected that more than 300 vintage and classic cars would be present to attract a crowd of about 15000 people to witness the show,” he concluded.
