Islamabad - Mayor Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority Sheikh Anser Aziz said that Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad is using modern technology in execution of ongoing development projects to complete them in the stipulated time.
He stated this during inspection of dualisation of road from Service Road (West) Sector G-10 to Khayaban-e-Iqbal Metropolitan Corporation,
Director General (Works) and officers of concerned formations were also present on the occasion. The Mayor, while directing the officers for completion the road before December 5 this year, stressed on formulation of an effective strategy for timely completion of development projects in the capital.
He said that unnecessary delay in completion of development projects has not only increased the estimated cost but also earned a bad name for MCI in the past.
Project Director apprised the Mayor that the dualization of the road costing Rs.23 million started in April 2016. Adding that 90 percent of development work on the project had been completed, he assured that the work would be completed within the stipulated time of 5th December, 2017. The Mayor expressed his dissatisfaction over the landscaping work on median strip by the Environment Wing and directed the Director Environment to complete it as soon as possible.
He also instructed them to remove the shrubs and wild grass from both sides of the road and to install electric poles and street lights.
He directed the Project Director to personally supervise the development work and submit the progress report. Sheikh Anser Aziz also inspected the remaining work on the link road between Sector E-11 and Sector D-12.
