Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif on Friday pressed the Prime Minister Imran Khan to stop directing threats at the politicians in the backdrop of accountability.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, the politician expressed that he had confronted dictatorship in the past and faced arrests as well.
‘Who exactly is the target of your threats,’ wondered Shehbaz and added that the premier should avoid threatening tone as it is tarnishing the image of the country.
Former Punjab chief minister repeated the calls for naming the individual who sought NRO on their behalf from the incumbent regime.
"The premier should name the individual who was requesting NRO for Nawaz Sharif," said the lawmaker.
Shehbaz Sharif, who turned up before the Lower House of the Parliament on production order, expressed that it was revealed that the sister of Imran Khan, Aleema Khan owned property in Dubai, for which an NRO was inked.
The legislator also fired a broadside at the incumbent premier over his statement regarding U-turn, saying who will pose a trust in the country with such a narrative.
"Is the premier aware of the impact his U-turn related statement could create,"wondered the politician.
The President of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz expressed that the logic put forth by Imran Khan was beyond the understanding of public and himself asking, how the international community would interpret this.
‘Imran Khan is asserting that his statement is true,’ observed Sharif and added that the incumbent premier should show more seriousness as his statements are reflecting that he is still aboard a container.
Claiming that he was advocating on behalf of the public, the PML-N leader inquired about the assertions made by the incumbent regime about the inflow of remittances by the overseas Pakistanis.
Shehbaz is currently facing a probe by NAB in the Ashiana-i-Iqbal scam; the production order for him was issued for a third time by Speaker Asad Qaiser.
