RAWALPINDI - A civil court here on Saturday rejected acquittal pleas of former federal minister for water and power Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and PPP former MNA Naheed Khan in a case of creating disturbance during Lahore High Court, Rawalpindi Bench, hearing in 1998. The court also declared another accused Shehzada Kausar Gilani, AJK PPP MLA, as Proclaimed Offender (PO) and issued her permanent arrest warrants. However, an accused Chaudhry Bashir has been released due to lack of sufficient evidence against him. The court later adjourned the hearing till October 26, instructing the prosecution to present all the witnesses in the court to get record their statements on the next date of hearing. It is pertinent to mention here that in 1998, a case was registered against Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Naheed Khan, Shehzada Kausar Gilani and clerk Chaudhry Shabbir for creating disturbance in the court during the intermission of hearing of reference against PPP slain chairperson Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari.
