Regional police directed policemen to be courteous towards the complainants and perform their duties without any fear to revive the public confidence.

Chairing a meeting in the DPO office Hafizabad, Gujranwala RPO Syed Dilawar Abbas Shah said that it was duty of the police to protect the life, honour and property of the citizens and he would show no negligence in this respect. He directed them to tighten noose around the anti-social elements and terrorists so as to maintain peace. He further directed them to intensify patrolling, round-up proclaimed offenders and ensure investigation on merit. Law-abiding citizens should be given due respect while criminals and those found involved in creating law and order situation should be dealt with sternly.

The police in Sangla Hill pledged to ensure foolproof security during Muharramul Haram in order to avoid any untoward incident.

Nankana Sahib police held a meeting with organizers of various Muharram gatherings. The district police officer said that effective security arrangements would be made and routes and timings of the processions will be followed strictly. The organisers also gave suggestions to make effective security arrangements, which were agreed for the success of the plan.

He said that special vigilance would be ensured against suspects and checking of vehicles would be carried out. He also listened to various problems of the organisers and directed the policemen to resolve them at earliest.

The district police have imposed a ban on the entry of 13 religious leaders in Nankana Sahib district to ensure and maintain peace and harmony during Muharram. Under a notification, the following leaders were banned: Molana Mohsan Raza, Abdul Tawab, Ziaullah Qadri, Nawaz Baloch, Abdul Alleem, Gulam Husain Hashmi, Manzoor Ahmed, Muhammad Ahmed, Gulam Kibria, Raza Husain, Gazanfer Abbas, Munawer Abbas and Noorul Haq.
