JACOBABAD: Bomb blast during a Muharram procession near Shershah Haveli in Jacobabad's Lashari Mohalla killed at least 14 people included two children, and injured over 30.

Security and rescue efforts are underway at the site after the explosion. An emergency has been declared at the Civil Hospital Jacobabad, where the dead and the injured are been shifted.

The law enforcement agencies in Sindh say there is a “nexus between sectarian terrorists and anti-state elements,” which are posing a threat to peace during Muharram. Pillion riding is already banned in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and Larkana and cell phone and internet services are suspended in main cities, including Karachi, as a security measure during the 9th and 10th of Muharram.

The intelligence agencies have been told to keep a look out for actions of the Indian intelligence agency RAW during the month to check any foreign sponsored incident during Muharram.
