LAHORE - Another ‘iron lady’ of Punjab Food Authority, Rafia Haider yesterday sealed several eateries in the capital city of Punjab.

Haider, who is Director (Operations), Allama Iqbal Town, raided Aamras Foods at Tariq Ismail Road and sealed the premises due to manufacturing of adulterated and substandard juices, improper storage, poor personal and premise hygiene, presence of insects and non-functional integrated pest management system (IPM).

PFA’s Ravi Town team, led with Haider, visited production unit of Shahbaz Dahi Bhaly in Begum Kot and Subhani Foods (production unit of sweets) in Shahdara. Both premises were sealed due to non-functional IPM, abundance of flies and insects, poor premises hygiene and non-traceability for ingredients being used in processing.

The Boota Bakery in Garhi Shaho was also sealed for using rotten eggs in bakery products, while Chorahi Nan Shop in Umer Block, Allama Iqbal Town, was sealed on the basis of unhygienic conditions.

Also, the food authorities imposed heavy fine on Benazir Qulfa, Butt Restaurant, Khaliq Bakery, Punjab Store, Plaza Sweets, Hafiz Pakwan and Shafique bakery over unhygienic conditions.
