HAFIZABAD : On the call made by the Muttahida Mahaz Asatza (MMA), the teachers protested against the inter-division transfers of headmasters/head teachers on the pretext of low enrolment.

MMA District President Riaz Ahmad Tarar and other office-bearers said that teachers of primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools would lock their schools on Saturday and demonstrate against the decision of the government in Jinnah Chowk Hafizabad to press for the acceptance of their demands to withdraw transfer orders.

DIRECTION: District Returning Officer Ata Muhammad directed the returning officers appointed for holding the elections of special seats of local government elections to abide by the Code of Conduct. He also directed them to perform their duties in a free and transparent manner.

He said that scrutiny of nomination papers for special seats in district council, union councils and municipal committees have already been completed and according to the schedule, elections for the special seats of District Council will be held on November 8, Municipal Committees on November 10 and Union Councils on November 12.

LAWYERS PROTEST: The litigants are facing hardship and inconvenience due to boycott of courts by the lawyers. They said that at least once in a week they resort to boycott of the courts which caused multiple problems for them and delay in the provision of justice.

 The DBA lawyers again boycotted the courts to protest for not establishing LHC Bench in Gujranwala Division.
