LAHORE - Leader of Opposition in Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has accused Speaker Ch Parvez Elahi of playing ‘spokesman’ for NAB.

“What the speaker said in favour of NAB two days ago met the spokesman need for this institution, Hamza told media men outside the Punjab Assembly.

Drawing nexus between the Speaker and NAB, he said, Parvez is trying to become ‘more loyal than the king himself’.

“Former Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif has been taken into custody without proof and evidence,” he added.

Amid protest of the PML-N MPAs on the suspension of membership of their six members, Hamza also spoke against Prime Minister Imran Khan and the Punjab budget.

“The Cabinet of Niazi sb itself has 11 corrupt ministers. Niazi sb has broken promise about awarding 10 million jobs and now is making other jobless,” Hazma said.

He said membership of the six MPA of his party could have been suspended after holding inquiry into their act.

It is their fourth day of protest and they would not join the session unless restriction on the members is withdrawn, the opposition leader said, adding that the budget has nothing for poor people.

“Secretariat budget has been increased by 20 per cent. What kind of new Pakistan the PTI government intends to create by all that. Imran Khan and Asad Umar are going to IMF though they vowed to commit suicide instead of knocking door of this institution for money. They are totally raw to run state affairs,” he said demanding PM Imran to present himself for accountability over use of helicopter.

He also criticized the PTI for losing seat in Peshawar by-election.
