Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmed Bilour has demanded the government to sack Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman from the chairmanship of Central Ruat-e-Hilal Committee. Mufti Muneeb is among the remaining of former President Pervez Musharraf and should be replaced by Maulana Shahabuddin Popalzai, federal minister and central leader of Awami National Party (ANP) said in a press conference here Wednesday. Bilour accused Mufti Muneeb of malfunctioning, saying that the Eid and other religious occasions have not been celebrated on a same day throughout the country since he began reining the moon sighting committee. He suggested to link the observing of Eid and Ramadan in Pakistan with the sighting of moon in Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, Chairman CRHC Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman has said that a secular political party was not authorized to issue the decrees of Islam and Kufr. Talking to a private TV, giving his reaction on the statement of federal minister, he said that he viciously opposed the anti-Islam policies of former President General (r) Pervez Musharraf, accusing ANP the party Bilour belongs to, of prostrating the dictator. He said that he was the remains of Islam and was proud of it.
