LAHORE - A ship carrying 30,000 MT refined sugar has reached the Karqachi port on Wednesday and now standing at the outer anchorage of the Port Qasim. According to the Trading Corporation of Pakistan, the vessel MV 'Orbit will take berth within a day and discharging will commence immediately. According to it, another ship, MV 'Unicorn Brave carrying 7,800 MT is arriving at KPT on Thursday while another vessel, MV 'Unicorn No-1 with 7,000 matric ton of sugar is scheduled to reach Karachi on 24th. The TCP stated that in addition to these ships, containerized shipments of 44,054 MT sugar is also scheduled to arrive by September 30. TCP has so far received 4,78,155 MT and after delivery to USC, CSDs and Provinces has a stock of 196,000 MT, a statement said and added that the ECC of the Cabinet has directed TCP to off load 50,000 MT imported sugar in the open market through auction. TCP will float tenders for auction soon, it said.
