LAHORE - Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly, Ch Zaheerud Din reacting on news reports regarding shelving the Mass Transit Train project by the provincial government to assist the flood affectees, said that provincial government should not cover its incompetence under the garb of assistance to the flood-hit people. He expressed these views while talking to PML-Q leaders, workers and journalists at Muslim League House on Wednesday. Ch Zaheer said Mass Transit Train project had to be completed by a consortium of foreign banks, while the provincial government had no financial involvement in the project and it had to assist the project by providing manpower and land only. He said the Mass Transit Train project was initiated in Ch Pervaiz Elahis government and fully funded by the Asian Development Bank and the same was shelved by the provincial government in opposition against the former provincial chief minister.
