Scandal-hit players ‘extremely dangerous’ for PSL, says Ramiz

LAHORE - Former Pakistani cricketer and ambassador of Pakistan Super League (PSL), Ramiz Raja has said that spot-fixing scandal-hit players are ‘extremely dangerous’ for the reputation of PSL.
Talking to a private TV channel, Ramiz said that M Amir, Salman Butt and M Asif would be dangerous for the reputation of the inaugural Pakistan’s Twenty20 league. He said that all these players should not be the part of first season of Pakistan Super League. “I personally would never want them to be a part of the PSL as it is going to be extremely dangerous for the model of the event and image of Pakistan cricket,” the former captain said.
He also slammed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for training them in the National Cricket Academy (NCA). “They get special treatment at the NCA. They are provided with young players to train with, they get their clothes washed and have food at the academy. This is really not acceptable and will be very dangerous for the reputation of the NCA and Pakistan cricket,” the former captain added.
Earlier, the tainted trio was allowed by the ICC to take part in the national as well as international events after they have completed the period of their bans. Many of the former and current players spoke against allowing them to represent the country in international matches while some were in favour of giving them second chance. But Ramiz now has clearly stated that they shouldn’t be part of the PSL and the PCB should keep them away from the league.
