Islamabad - The Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Islamabad police yesterday arrested a car-lifter involved in taking away various vehicles from twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, a police spokesman said.  He said that SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani directed to expedite efforts for curbing car theft incidents. Following his directions, special teams were constituted by SP (Investigation) Islamabad Muhammad Ilyay under supervision of In-charge ACLC Liaqat Ali. One of the teams succeeded to apprehend an auto-lifter who stole several vehicles. He has been identified as Amir Anwar Butt son of Abdul Kareem, resident of New Chakra, Imtiaz Market, Rawalpindi.

During preliminary interrogation, he confessed to commit several auto-theft incidents in Islamabad and Rawalpindi along with this other accomplices whose search is also underway. Police is hopeful for recovery of more cars from them.
