Rawalpindi - Police have finalised security plan for by-elections in PP-7 (Taxila) and officials have been directed to remain unbiased on the said occasion.

As many as 2,000 police officers and officials will perform security duty on the occasion, informed a police spokesman yesterday.  According to him, police have made a comprehensive security plan on the orders of City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi for maintaining law and order during by-election in Taxila and other areas.

He said at least 2,000 officers and officials would be deployed at 167 polling stations in Taxila and its suburbs for a peaceful ballot on 26 September. He said the polling stations have been divided into three categories including A, B and C. He said there will be complete ban on display of weapons anywhere in the area. Moreover, police including Elite Force commandoes will also patrol the area under the supervision of senior police officers, he informed.
