LAHORE - Salamat School Systems dominated the PLTA 10&under Red Ball Inter-School Tennis Tourney by grabbing 10&under boys singles title and hand body coordination competitions here at the PLTA Tennis Center Bagh-e-Jinnah on Thursday.

Salamat boys stood runner-up in team competitions. In the boys singles Talha Afzal from SICAS boys Liberty Campus defeated Ahmad Khan from Learning Alliance 7-5 while in the girls singles, Maya Nasser Lone from Lahore Grammar School outplayed Tehreem Afzal from Lahore Crammer. In all, eight schools took part in the tourney and a huge number of parents and tennis lovers were present on the occasion despite hot and humid weather.

The tourney was held in honor of visiting International ITF executive Suresh Menon, who in the end, distributed prizes among the top performers. He will now pay visit to Salamat School Systems and observe their ‘Mini Tennis Programme’ offered at their campuses.

Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Menon praised the efforts of the PLTA and its secretary Rashid Malik for promoting tennis at the grassroots level and asked parents to encourage their kids to play tennis and take part in ITF regulated 10&under Tennis Program which is especially designed by years of research and it has all the ingredients to help child team spirit, self development and competitiveness at early stages.
